Ullapool Community Trust (UCT) is a Development Trust. We act as an umbrella or anchor organisation serving the community of the wider Lochbroom area. We deliver projects of our own and act as a development agency to nurture other groups, initiatives and kick start projects. Our overall goal is to support the community to be healthy, inclusive and environmentally and economically sustainable.
How can you get involved with the Ullapool Community Trust ?
Anyone living within our community area can join the UCT and membership is free.
We are governed by a board of volunteer directors who live within the area and bring a mix of skills and experience to help us run all of the programmes and projects we are involved in. We have several working groups who look at specific topics and projects. Membership of these groups is open to all and we are particularly keen to recruit younger people so they might have a direct say in how these activities are run.
Examples of our current working groups are?
Environment and sustainability ? this group organised the ?Let?s Go Electric? day earlier this year. Their current project is communicating facts and figures about carbon emissions so that members of the community can make more informed choices in their daily lives.
The Forestry Group is looking at the possibility of community owned woodland at Lael.
We also have Health and Wellbeing, Finance & Employment, Marketing and the New Broom Hub groups.
If you would like to find out more about our work, become a member or join one of the above groups, do come along to our AGM this Tuesday 26th November, 7-9pm, Macphail Centre or contact one of the staff at the Hub or drop an email to: newbroomhub@outlook.com
